Children’s Choir

What a treat it has been to hear our children sing every third Sunday. Noma Loveland has worked her charm and the children sound like angels! Youth Mentors are singing in harmony, and adding richness to the music presented at our worship services.

Adult Choir

Our Adult Choir has contributed much to our morning worship also. Whenever possible, we have chosen music to coordinate with the scriptures of the day. It is our hope that this will make our worship even more meaningful for all. Whenever one of our parishioners lets me know that liked a particular anthem, I always pass on their kind words to our singers. And if you know someone would like to join with us in singing praises to God, please invite them!

Children’s Masterworks Choruses, May 18 at 7:30pm

There are lots of new young singers in the Junior Masterworks Chorus this season! Director Kara Pekar will lead the children in four delightful two-part songs. Drums, tambourine, flute, and sound effects by the children themselves will accompany these songs! Our own Dan Knowlton and Beth Loudin of Trinity United Methodist Church will be the percussionists. 17-year old James Kennedy of Oakland Baptist church will play the flute. Anne Knowlton and 18-year old Rebecca Campbell of Trinity United Methodist Church will be the piano accompanists.

The Youth Masterworks Chorus, directed by Jeannine Richardson, has prepared a wonderful program for you. What an outstanding chorus of young musicians! Anne Knowlton is the piano accompanist, and Dan Knowlton and Beth Loudin are the percussionists. Many of these singers have been members of this chorus since they were a young as five years old. Seven are graduating this year, and will be continuing their musical studies in college this fall.

The grand finale has something for everyone! Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord! by Beck is written in the style of a breezy cakewalk. The Junior and Youth SPMC will be joining forces. The kids really sing out…it will give the pianist an opportunity to exhibit her piano skills…and it will set your feet a-tapping! What a joyful way to end a Candlelight Vesper Service of Music.
