Rockathon - April, 2010
The youth group rocked the night away on April 23th, in rocking chairs! Different games and skits helped pass the time; the rule was that at least two team members needed to be rocking at all times. The youth raised over $500; thanks to everyone who made donations. The money will be split between the youth group account (to help pay for future events) and the American Cancer Society.

Thinking About Bowling
December 2009
Lamb’s Creek Camping:

Thirteen brave youth and four intrepid adults camped out on Halloween at historic, haunted Lamb’s Creek Church. The youth told ghost stories, learned about the hauntings at Lamb’s Creek Church, and snacked on tasty, sugary treats. Two said they saw the ghost of a horse and soldier, but the only scary noises were snores. Before sleepily going home, we celebrated an early morning Eucharist together.
Shrine Mont Retreat:

Stephanie Henke and Kai Colwell accompanied six of our 6th and 7th graders to Shrine Mont for a November weekend retreat. The theme for the weekend was ‘Searching for God in Wondrous Things,’ and it was truly a wondrous weekend!
Commitment Sunday: The youth stewardship presentation was a great success! Thanks to all who stepped in and helped us learn about the important relationship between money and faith. The excerpt below is from the presentation:
Heckler 1: I can see now why it is important to the church and other people that we share our money to help run the church and give to others in need. But is it important to us, to share?
Speaker 2: Yes it is! It is part of our worship of God. So, when we put money into an envelope, or when we give money to the homeless, we are actually saying ‘Thank you’ to God and we are actually helping His will to be done.
Speaker 1: Its no use praying the Lords Prayer ‘Thy will be done’ - unless we help to make God’s will happen.
Heckler 2: It’s a bit like putting your money where your mouth is, isn’t it? Worshiping with our money as well as with our hymns and prayers.
Upcoming Events: Our upcoming events include the December 20th Christmas pageant, shopping for and wrapping gifts for families in need, and other fun Christmas preparations! Please note that, as part of our meeting rotation, our December meetings will be at St. John’s Parish Hall.
