Congratulations to our Musicians
Congratulations to Jeannie Richardson and to all who participated in the production of our Spring Masterworks concert. Their performace of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem was intricate, beautiful, and moving. The concert was offered in remembrance of the loved ones of St. Paul’s members. Rev. May read aloud a long and touching list of their names.
Anticipating that our organ would be unavailable, Jeannie developed the concert by adapting the Faure score for strings, bassoon, brass, timpani, and harp–an impressive musical feat. Our musicians distinguished themselves and produced a polished performance that was simply outstanding. Three of the instrumentalists were our own, Robyn Bauer (Violin), Andy Knowlton (French Horn), and Danny Knowlton (Timpani). Choir and soloists (Margaret Bushman and Dick Frazer) produced a flawless performance, reaching a peak of quality for the Masterworks Concert series. The orchestra provided robust accompaniment for the chorus, including an especially charming job by the string section. Kate Hazzard filled in as last minute replacement harpist (Thanks, Kate!) and made us want to hear more harp music.
Photographs taken during the run-up to this memorable concert are available on St. Paul’s website.
